Building Railway Models
Updates:-
Amble Junction updated to the 27th June 2011
I have been building railway models for over 30 years and this website is a pictorial record. Most of my models are in either 3mm or 7mm to the foot scales but I have been known, on the odd occasion, to model in other scales too. I have built and exhibited two exhibition layouts, Longridge Junction in 3mm and Whittingham Station in 7mm which is now on display at the Balliff Gate museum in Alnwick, Northumberland. I am currently, along with Chris Shaw and Vince Main, building another exhibition layout, "Amble Junction" in 3mm to the unusual gauge of 13.5 mm which is the equivelent of EM in 4mm.
I have tried to make this website a one of real interest especially to the new starter specifically in 3mm but also to those who choose to model outside the Premier Scale. Building model railways from scratch has given me great deal of pleasure and fun over the past 30 years and if I can transfer some of that pleasure and fun to others then all my efforts will have been worth while. I have added a page showing how, if I was a beginner, I would tackle a scratch built 0-6-0, rather than wait until I have written the whole article and publish it I will continue to add to it as my time allows, may not be every day, so you will have to bear with me. Let me know if you enjoy it.
I also hope that you will enjoy looking through the photographs on the following pages and find something of interest.
